busy busy busy
That's my day tomorrow. I cut everything out two days ago, and still haven't gotten around to sewing it all together. Guess what I am doing tomorrow? That's right! Sewing...

So I finished a hat today :) It's actually a little smaller than I would have liked for an 18 month old so I'm calling it 6-12 months. Then I sat here for an hour tonight cutting out 3 more patterns in 3 different sizes each.
So it's either going to be a really productive weekend or Anna is going to be completely unreasonable. I'm hoping (and aiming) to have one hat of each size in each set of prints done by June 15th. What's the date today? June 9th... oh boy, guess I'd better get a move on :S
By the way, I am NOT posting a picture of the hat I finished today until the rest are done :) Everyone is just going to have to wait. Yay anticipation!

So I spent the last couple days getting my workspace in order and running around getting a few things for what will end up being the finishing touches on my hats. Like trims and snaps, so they look more polished and kids can't unsnap and pull their hats off their heads (I really HATE that, LOL).
So I thought I would post a picture.
Hopefully, since it looks so nice and organized, I will be more productive. I'm currently drafting the pattern for the "Modern Bonnet", and they will be for girls AND boys.
I've also added pictures on my Gallery page of some of my quick sketches and Anna's christening dress, which I made well over a year ago. All of the needlework was done COMPLETELY by hand.

I knew it wouldn't be easy...
All I got around to doing today was the ironing of my freshly washed and pre-shrunk cotton fabrics. Anna stood beside me pretty much the whole time. I have a computer for connecting to my sewing machine, and her favorite thing to do with it is smash the keyboard. It better work when I need to use it. When I told her to stop she started screaming. So much for working...
Then I checked my horoscope, it said not to work today anyway. I thought it might be a good idea to listen to it, because if I know if I get too frustrated, my stuff wouldn't turn out the way it needs to. So tomorrow is a new day AND at least it is ironed already.

The Beginning...
After searching far and wide for stylish and functional children's hats, I came up empty handed. I had planned on making my own, and now I've had a couple local stores tell me they are interested in seeing the things I can do. So over the next few weeks I will be adding various styles of hats available for purchase on this site and possibly in a few boutique stores here in Victoria, BC. Stay tuned...
